"I am a new patient to the Joint Relief Institute in Oakbrook IL. I had severe injuries to my legs while on job many years ago. Both knees where blown out and 9 compound fractures to right tibia where some of those related. Finished 30 years on the job and retried a few years ago. Left knee was replaced with titanium. Working quite well and fortunate to have such success. They Orthopedic surgeons are hesitant to attempt replacing right knee. So, a few shots over a the last few years of cortisone have helped for awhile but started having a feeling of failure or my body was getting used to them. Looking for something else to try to help the severe pain, I came upon Joint Relief Institute in Oakbrook. Made a call and appointment. The very first day was an incredible visit. First, the staff was extremely professional. They where understanding and complete spending a lot of time explaining the Joint Relief Institute goals and their methods of treatment. I was sure what I was getting involved in and the purpose of the treatments in the end. Well, (this is no kidding) I felt better after the very first shot just walking in the lot afterwords. That's no kidding! Looked forward each week for the following four shots to follow. How rare is that? My knee is far from healed and certainly doesn't visually appear like that of a male model to be sure. However, the pain is substantially less and it was covered by BCBS with no co-pay. In and out of the office at JRI in Oakbrook in no time. Absolutely fantastic staff, most important, it would be an understatement to share how effective these treatments have taken at this point. "It’s a miracle! There’s no better way to describe my experience at the Joint Relief Institute. My knees hurt so badly that I dreaded walking up and down stairs. There was pain with every step while walking. The pain would wake me up in the middle of the night. I wasn’t expecting much from the injections I received at the Joint Relief Institute. I was desperately trying to find an alternative to knee replacement surgery. I had the first injections at about 2:30 in the afternoon. I was noticing some improvement just a few hours later. When I walked upstairs to go to bed, there was very little pain. I slept through the night and had virtually no pain when I woke up in the morning. For the first three or four days I was in shock that my knees could have improved so much. Some pain came back after four days, but my knees are still so much better than before the first treatment. "I’ve been going to Joint Relief Institute in Orland Park. My knee pain was constant, often immobilizing, including waking me up at night. I’d been seeing an orthopedic surgeon, but my knee had an adverse effect from the cortisone shot I received. I read about JRI in the Sunday paper. I was of course skeptical. Just sounded too good to be true. The ‘live imaging’ was the game changer for me. Of course it would be more effective if you could direct where the gel needed to go. The initial consultation was free, so I made an appointment. These injections have worked remarkably well for me. Every six months I get the series of 5 shots. My knees feel stronger and I am almost always pain free. Dr. Rahul Khapekar is my wonderful doctor at JRI. He is an excellent, patient and thorough doctor. Each visit he drains any accumulated liquid from my inflamed knees. Then, using real time imaging, he injects a dye to see where the gel needs to go. Lastly, he injects the dye into all the crevices in my knee. I am grateful to JRI, Dr.Khapekar and their efficient staff. They make my life, and others who go to JRI, better. If the knee injections continue to work, I may never need knee surgery. But all the time I’m getting injections surgical procedures are improving and becoming less invasive. I feel very lucky. "I've been going to this facility for about a year for pain in both knees. They have helped me, but I'll admit it's not forever but I'm going back in May for another treatment. It does offer relief for a period of time, and everyone is different. Some people have longer lasting relief than others. What I'm really thankful for is Jill Ores in the Billing Dept. as BCBS has giving them and myself a bit of a run around with how they are going to pay but with some hard work and diligence, Jill has managed once again to come through with working with me and the insurance company for a compromise that we're all happy with. I hope Jill stays with this group for a long time as it's difficult to find help that goes the extra mile to help their patients resolve any billing disputes. Good work once again Jill!
